What we collect
When you create an account we store your name and email address. The essays you submit for assessment are kept in your account so you can review past reports. Usage data such as assessment counts and streak information is stored to power your progress dashboard.
Your essays are sent to a third-party AI service
This is the most important thing on this page, so it is stated plainly: to assess your writing, your essay text and the question it answers are transmitted to an external large language model trained on curated data. Which model serves a given assessment depends on the task, since some are better suited to reading a chart than others; that selection is ours to make and may change as better models become available. Your essay is sent only to produce your assessment. We do not use it to train models, we do not sell it, and we do not publish it. The third party processes the text under its own terms, so if your essay contains personal information you would not share with an external service, remove it before submitting.
How your essays are used
Your essays are processed solely to produce writing assessments. We do not sell or share your writing samples for marketing or model training. You may delete any essay, and deleting your account removes your stored essays and reports.
How long we keep it
Essays and their reports are kept until you delete them or close your account, because your progress history is the product. Deleting an essay removes its report, the marks inside it and its uploaded image. When you delete your account, your essays, evaluations and feedback are removed with it.
Cookies & local storage
We use cookies to keep you signed in and local storage to remember your theme preference and to avoid repeating unnecessary activity updates. We do not use third-party advertising cookies on this product, and we do not run advertising trackers.
Log files
Like most services, our hosting infrastructure records standard technical information such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested. This is used to operate and secure the service and to diagnose faults. It is not used to build an advertising profile.
Data sharing
We never sell personal data. Data is shared only with the providers required to operate the product — hosting, database, authentication, email delivery, and the AI assessment provider described above — and only to the extent each needs it to perform that function.
Your rights
You can request a copy of your personal data, ask for corrections, or request deletion at any time by contacting us. If you are in the UK, EU or EEA you also have the right to restrict processing, to object to processing, and to data portability. If you are a California resident you have the right to know what personal information is collected and to request its deletion. We do not sell personal information. We respond to all requests within 30 days.
Children
This service is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will remove it.
